WGMD-5 2-D Multi-electrode Resistivity Surveying System
WGMD-5 distributed 2-D multi-electrode resistivity surveying system is composed of WGMD-5 mainframe, PDS-1 distributed switcher adapter, distributed switching cable and electrodes. WGMD-5 has all the functions of WDJD-3 multi-function digital DC resistivity & IP instrument. It is capable of surveying general resistivity as well as surveying 2-D multi-electrode resistivity.
WGMD-5 features mass memory capability, quick and accurate measurement, convenient operation, etc. It is compatible with some other software for multi-electrode measuring meters, so that the interpretation is convenient and direct. In addition to wide applications in energy resources exploration and city geophysical prospecting, railway and bridge inspecting, mental and non-mental mineral resources survey, it is also used in hydrology and engineering geological prospecting, such as researching for groundwater, inspecting water reservoir dam and flood protection dam for incipient faults. Besides, it contributes to geothermal survey. |

Main Features
- One instrument with multiple functions---- It is able to do general resistivity survey and 2-D multi-electrode resistivity survey.
- Accurate and highly efficient: Without cost of repeatability, only 15 minutes is needed to finish surveying a cross section (2-D or 3-D).
- Mass data storage---- For 2-D survey in mode I (only data of resistivity), over 43680 sets of measuring results could be stored. For 2-D survey in mode II (resistivity and current), over 21840 sets of measuring results could be stored. All of these data would not loss when power is cut off.
- Measuring data of different modes are able to coexist, which include data of general resistivity, 2-D and 3-D multi-electrode resistivity and 2-D multi-electrode induced polarizability. These different data do not disturb each other.
- Earth resistance check: convenient and quick earthing check at any time in field.
- Electrode arrays: for 2-D multi-electrode survey, more than 18 electrode arrays support, extendable. Either the cross section may be a fixed reference to be scanned (in this case, electrode arrays are AMNBABMN, AMBN, AMN, MNB, A-MN-B, SP-M, SP-MN, charge M, charge MN), or the cross section rolls continuously to be scanned (in this case, electrode arrays are A-M, A-MN, AB-M, ABCMN, MN-B, A-MN square, A-MN-B, cross-hole dipole). For the latter, length of cross section is allowed to be extended infinitely while electrodes are fixed. This facilitates tracing long cross section with low cost and high efficiency.
- For 2-D multi-electrode measurement, initial electrodes to be surveyed are defined by user, convenient and flexible for operation.
WGMD-5 as Mainframe
WGMD-5 main unit is designed not only for multi-electrode measurement but also for conventional 1-D measurement. As a transmitter and receiver all-in-one instrument, it can perform resistivity, induced polarization (IP) as well as 2-D multi-electrode resistivity measurement. It is feasured with compact size, super-low power comsuption and quite remarkable accuracy and consistancy.
